Katarzyna MAKSYMIUK is Associate Professor of History at the University of Siedlce, Poland. She is the author of Geography of Roman-Iranian Wars: Military Operations of Rome and Sasanian Iran (Siedlce, 2015; Joqrafiya-ye Jang-ha-ye Iran va Rom: Amaliyat-ha-ye Nezami-ye Iran va Rom dar Dore-ye Sasani, trans. into Persian by Parviz Hossein Talaee, Tehran, 1397/2019); co-author of: The Military History of the Third Century Iran (with Ilkka Syvänne, Siedlce, 2018); The Siege of Amida 359 CE (with Kaveh Farrokh and Javier Sánchez Gracia, Siedlce 2018); A Synopsis of Sasanian Military Organization and Combat Units (with Kaveh Farrokh and Gholamreza Karamian, Siedlce-Tehran 2018) and co-editor of Crowns, Hats, Turbans and Helmets: The Headgear in Iranian History, vol. I: Pre-Islamic Period (Siedlce-Tehran 2017). She is a member of the Association for the Study of Persianate Societies, the Austrian Byzantine Society, and the Byzantinist Society of Cyprus.
