Abstract

The chemical industry has a wide range of plant protection products. Their use is the most effective factor of yielding. The main objective of this article is to present the structure of the sales and use of plant protection products in Poland in the years 2000-2012. Sales of plant protection products is systematically growing. Total sales of plant protection products in bulk commodity in our country was in 2000, 22 thousand t, and in 2012 nearly 3-fold higher and amounted to 61.5 thousand t. In the sales structure dominated herbicides, followed by fungicides, insecticides, the smallest percentage stated rodenticides and growth regulators. Consumption of plant protection products in 2012 in kg of active ingredient per 1 ha of crops was more than 2kg .ha-1but in 2005 was 1.3 kg . ha-1.
