The courier services logistics market in Poland

In Poland, courier companies have been operating for a relatively short period of time. Nevertheless, they occupy a significant place in the national economy. Courier services market in Poland, compared with Western European countries, is still under development. In the countries of the so-called old European Union the use of courier service per capita is several time higher than in Poland. This means that the industry courier-express-donuts (KEP) in our country will continue to grow vigorously in the coming years. In 2011, the public operator realized in domestic and foreign markets more than 2.1 billion postal services (universal postal services, postal services contracts, including courier services), which resulted in more than a 4.8 billion PLN income. As the number of services was about 1.6 billion universal postal services, which generated about 4.2 billion PLN in the income, with over 1.3 billion letter-post items accounted for, of which revenues were nearly 3.3 billion PLN. Private operator realized in 2011,
a total domestic and foreign markets, more than 3.7 billion postal services (items of correspondence, mail, parcel, bulk mailing), which resulted in nearly a 1.5 billion PLN income.
