Activities of the Volunteer Fire Department in the Siemień commune in the years 1918-1939

The Volunteer Fire Brigades are a unique organization with a rich history and symbolism, aiming to impelemet the principle "For the glory of God, for the benefit of people". This article presents the history of the activities of the Volunteer Fire Departments it the Siemień commune in the years 1918-1939. In the interwar period, three fire brigades were established in the commune, i.e. in Siemień in 1923, in Wierzchowiny in 1927 and in Wola Tulnnicka in 1928. Until 1939, the Volunteer Fire Brigades from Siemień commune built two fire stations in Siemień and Wierzchowiny, and also tried to equip themselves with the necessary firefighting equipment with modest resources. In addition, the Volunteer Fire Department undertook extensive cultural and patriotic activities among its members and residents, through the participation and organization of amateur theater, celebrations of national holidays and anniversaries.
