Literatura podróżnicza jako wiwisekcja narodowych tożsamości (Na przykładzie Międzymorza Z. Szczerka)

Abstrakt

The main focus of the article is a literary picture of Central European countries as
an internally diversified, unique, cultural, anthropological phenomenon polarized
according to the cultural antinomies: East-West and Central-Peripheries. My
analysis is based Z. Szczerek's Międzymorze’s a contemporary memoir of the
journey through Central and Eastern Europe. Modernity and the process of redevelopment
is a point of reference for Szczerek's contemporary view on Central
Europe. His strategy made it evident, that categories like borderland, periphery,
diversity, are distinctive for Central European reality indicating its division, border
fluidity and civilizational amorphism.
